Black pepper is an important Vietnamese export product. For many years, Vietnam has always maintained the world’s number one position in the black pepper production and export. Currently, Vietnamese black pepper is present in more than 100 markets around the world. From 2018 up to now, black pepper price has been decreasing, affecting the Vietnam’s pepper industry. However, in the long term, Vietnam’s black pepper industry could still be developing. In order to improve the value of goods and meet the requirements of fastidious markets like the US, Europe, Japan etc., businesses and producers must change to improve quality and ensure the food safety of black pepper products. At the same time, the black pepper industry needs to have the way to increase the value of products by cultivating the black pepper towards an organic way; especially, attach special importance to organic fertilization and plant protection in the black pepper cultivation.
